Just a Munich girl living in the US :)
Hallo, Servus, and welcome to my channel! My name is Felicia (Feli) and I was born and raised in Munich, Germany but moved to Cincinnati, Ohio for an exchange semester in August 2016 while I was doing my undergrad at LMU Munich. After that, I kept coming back and as I was lucky enough to win the Green Card Lottery, I've been a Permanent Resident since August 2019!
In my videos, I talk about cultural differences between America and Germany, things I like and dislike about living here, and other experiences that I have made during my time in the States.
Let me know what YOU would like to hear about in the comments! If you want to see more of me, you can follow my social media pages or support me on Patreon or ko-fi.com! And check out my brand new shop for authentic beer mugs, "Servus" t-shirts, German curse word stickers, and more ▸felifromgermany.com. :)

You're not the only one that thinks that, Feli, there's many of us that have lived here our entire lives that think the same.. Welcome to The Divided States of America..
Induction is faster just show people the science, or make a cute demonstration video. Both work and I love your video🎉
You have clearly never visited New York City. Everyone walks.
No I have and so has my brother 😊 New York is definitely one of the few exceptions in terms of walkability (and in terms of a lot of things that are typical in most of the US).
Induction is quicker as not all the heat from gas goes into the pan.
Is the US a Democracy? Is it a Republic. Yes. And also yes. The origins of the"republic not a democracy" argument rely on the idea of a direct or as James Madison calls it, "pure" democracy, which is rare worldwide (though practiced in some limited forms throughout the United States where popular referenda are placed on the ballot for voters to to decide laws, tax levies, etc.). Though I can't speak for all of those who make the "republic not a democracy" argument, it has become something of a political dog whistle, gaining popularity among those who increasingly seek a level of minority rule which they erroneously equating with republicanism. (We literally fought a war over minority rule. The other side won.) So, the not so simple answer is that when people push back on you calling the US a "democracy," some are being very literal, but also incomplete; some are trying to advance a particular political ideal; and some are just being know-it-all neckbeards. Oh, and so many people are referencing the US Pledge of Allegiance. It's a patriotic pledge written by a Union general after the Civil War to increase patriotism. It had the words "under God" added during the Cold War to differentiate the US from the Soviets, and it is in no way a governing document. It's no more the basis of law than "America the Beautiful" or "This Land is Your Land."
I simply do not understand why you want to live here. If I was German, I'd never leave Europe.
Derp Derp awards goes to the genius architect who designed that! 😂
The "Confusion" comes from the fact that the United States founding fathers were disgusted with direct democracies and believed any democratic decision should be gagged by the Constitution because they saw direct democracies are murderous cesspools of corruption. lest not forgot the Greek philosopher whose death was served only through a vote because people didn't like him, I'm talking about Socrates. People who champion the United States as a "Democracy" do so to water down the importance of the US Constitution and that's a dangerous affair. This is why we have a a Supreme Court and Federal Judges who slap down any laws or legislations that would endanger personal freedoms like Athenian Democracies did.
The US is not a true democracy, when electing it's Presidency. While the congress is decided on the person with the most votes. The President is elected with a inept system that is called the Electoral College. Ms Clinton received about 2 million more votes than Trump, yet lost, as some states votes count up to 6 times other states.
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. In a republic, the sheep has rights.
No. None of that is accurate.
It'sa constitutional republic.
Ok, they didn't do any bit of research on anything. During the working day most americans are at work and children are at school. But go ahead and make a negative story about america on it. No negative stories about germany for these youtubers. Even if there are many negative things to say about nazi individuals and political groups (AfD) growing in germany. Now paid individuals in germany are attacking the new american auto factory starting up in germany. You can only guess the german auto industry don't want a american auto company to be successful in germany.
This is a snippet from a video where my brother's girlfriend shared her reaction after her very first time in the US. We inly spent time in the Cincinnati area and in Kentucky, she's not generalizing. 😊 However, in comparison to European cities, the US in known for being very car friendly and not very walkable. So even as someone who has been to over 20 US states, I would say this is a big difference between Germany and the US. You can also find lots of research and articles about this phenomenon in the US.
Don’t call your middle school latin students at home; that’s super creepy. Maybe talk to their parents.

The United States is. Constitutional Republic We are not now nor ever been a Democracy The founders warned of the Dangers of democracy Our schools used to teach that we were a Republic The Military used to teach our service men that we are a Republic This all changed with the most evil president in US History -Wilson He began pushing the Democracy lie Wilson destroyed the Dollar and created the unconstitutional federal reserve bank Go read about the monster created on Jekyll island This evil president and his democrat minions illegally created the income tax and forced the 16th amendment upon the people It was never ratified by the states
Germans don't get to live down WWII in any of our lifetimes. Trying to vilify the US military or call anything they do "murder" is pretty rich coming from a German.
We are a republic. A democracy is 50.1% rule. A republic allows for representation in lesser populated areas.
Do you know that there is also an October Festival in my country and yes the origin is the Oktoberfest of Bavaria in Germany.
Feli, I bet there was a lot of Jews in Germany who wished they had a civil right to keep and bear arms. We don't want a holocaust in America.
Oh absolutely! They would have been happy about a lot of basic rights that were taken from them. However, the discrimination was systemic and a gun wouldn't have helped them unfortunately.
I love street craft. This is infuriating
The Bergbau Museum in Bochum where only Australis has something similar to show to the public... that the Ruhr arrea once was a djugle and even Bavaria profitet from the cole, before it was pressed soooo much to become to diamonds...o.k.we needed cole at that time jo!
Who belives, that Schadenfreude would be not a concept in the english/american culture, has never seen an episode of "Americas funniest home videos" or one of the terrible prank shows.
Democracy is chaos because it doesn't work it don't exist because it doesn't work a republic works because it about individual liberty the reasons why people believe in the US is a democracy because generation after generation has been brainwashed and gaslighted all these years
I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb by guessing you'll find most of those who comment something to the effect of "the US is a Republic not a democracy" are Republicans and in any case, it makes me laugh at how stupid they make themselves look by making such comments and embarrassed by them whenever foreigners come across them and mistakenly believing they represent the majority of Americans.
Well, it's a disfunctinal democracy, but a democracy
Feli, the reason that we insist on specifying what TYPE of Democracy is that we believe the mainstream media and the extreme left (i.e. about 65% of the Democrat party) deliberately avoid using the term Constitutional representative republic because they want to accomplish 2 things: 1) downplay the Constitution because they don't like what's in it because it conflicts with their political objectives, and 2) insinuate that America is a Direct Democracy. This goes back to our origins but the people who authored the Constitution, and who we believe were on the merits exceptionally brilliant and wise, warned us repeatedly that Direct Democracy was mob rule and that organizing laws and society based on the fickle whims of the public whose sentiment might be one direction today and the opposite direction tomorrow would be chaos. All of American Government is based on the principle of checks & balances, and having representatives to temper the response to the transient will of the public is one of those checks & balances. Yet the far left media outlets always refuse to use the term representative republic because they are trying to shape the public into believing that elected officials should accede to their demands when whipped up into a fervor of protesting and rioting. It's like a way of intimidating elected officials and convincing the mob that elected officials are obligated or required to capitulate always.
Fair, the US is a democracy on paper, but still functions as an oligarchy in practice. It's supposed to be of the people, by the people, and for the people, but it's more of the rich, by large corporations, and for both of the above.
You tell ‘em!!!! People just want to be right or feel like what they know can’t be explained further. 💁🏻♀️
"The Founding Fathers wanted republicanism because its principles guaranteed liberty, with opposing, limited powers offsetting one another."
Actually, the US is a federal republic with democratic elements. But the democratic elements are kept within due bounds. At the national level, the only democratic component is the House of Representatives; even here, democracy is curtailed by state borders. The Senate, Presidency, and the Supreme Court certainly aren't democratic in nature.
It's bad that you have to explain that first. It's not a bad thing not to know something. But then you shouldn't pretend and say nonsense. Well then, so that the Viseo catches something. However, I believe that the problem in the USA is different. Republican supporters don't want the country to be called a democracy because the other party's name appears in it. And vice versa.
If we the people cannot even agree on what kind of Government, we have. How can we ever agree on anything. Is it not majority rules anymore. Odd that Russia under Putin for 25 years is also called a Democracy. thank you
I feel safer in US with everyone carrying guns, than in the us in a gun free zone. because the criminals carry no matter the law!
1:01 The U.S. isn't a democracy. It's fast headed toward autocracy. A dangerous form of government that doesn't respect any of those 6 aspects of a democracy.
That restaurant looks cool, near me there is Bruno's European Restaurant that has good German and Polish dishes, but I like the beer hall style tables Hofbrauhaus has.
"Video on what Germans eat for breakfast?" Yes.
The USA is a representative democracy, constitutional republic, democratic republic, and republican democracy. All of those terms accurately describe what the United States have. This is in contrast to an authoritarian Republic (modern mainland China and the USSR), Republic without a constitution (ancient Roman Republic), direct democracy with a written Constitution (ancient Athens), and representative democracy with Constitutional monarchy (United Kingdom). The Founding Fathers wrote in the Federalist Papers that they disliked pure democracy (which they described as citizens directly making decisions, which is called direct democracy today) and they wanted impure democracy in the form of a republic (which they described as a system of voters electing leaders who make decisions, which is called a representative democracy today).
Man hör ganska tydligt att Fassbender inte talade tyska som en infödd tysk. Han lät precis som han förväntas göra, en engelsman som pratar väldigt bra tyska.

Visitors should come to the Pacific Northwest or West in general
Thank you, Feli
The Constitution creates the form of government we have in the United States, which is a constitutional and federal republic. A constitutional republic means that it is one in which, rather than directly governing, the people select some of their members to temporarily serve in political office; the constitutional part means that both the citizens and their governing officials are bound to follow the rules established in that Constitution. A federal republic is one in which a federal government is given only limited powers for limited purposes, while state governments retain most powers of government. The Constitution describes this division of power, establishing which specific powers have been given to the federal government, while reiterating that most remain with the state governments. The Constitution’s status as supreme law of the land works in two ways. As long as an action of the federal government is authorized by the Constitution, that action supersedes any state or local law with which it might conflict. But not every action by the federal government is supreme-- federal activity must also follow from the Constitution or it too would be illegal.

This is in contrast to an authoritarian Republic (modern mainland China and the USSR), Republic without a constitution (ancient Roman Republic), direct democracy with a written Constitution (ancient Athens), and representative democracy with Constitutional monarchy (United Kingdom). I kinda like the wide-open spaces in the US and don't look forward to the proposed 15-minute communities idea.
It also depends if it is more urban or rural because for me I have a park down the street and there’s tons of parks but other cities don’t
Christoph Waltz is polyglot and speaks at least three languages fluently. In addition, he is fluent in additional languages, although not fluent.

Depends on where you are. I walk all the time.
Ok was both elevations in on earth the same? That is a major factor on how fast things boil. At higher elevations water boils faster.
Sehr, sehr interessant!
